Manor Farm

Manor Farm is a beautifully renovated Farm House in West Sussex offering accommodation for up to twelve guests. Built in 1300 this spacious country house is set in the heart of the South Downs National Park designated an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Manor Farm is set within its own stunning walled gardens allowing guests to have their own privacy.

Accommodation

The enormous farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with a fan oven, four oven Aga, five burner gas hob, large dishwasher, drinks fridge, America style fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a raised dining area, which has seating for up to 14 people, perfect for entertaining and supper parties. The adjacent utility room has a washing machine, drying rack and ironing facilities. This room is essentially a boot room with plenty of hanging space for coats and boots after a muddy walk, dogs are also welcome in this room and a basket is provided. A downstairs loo is also located off the kitchen area.

The house is essentially self-catering, but should you wish to be served a special meal, we have a private chef that can be arrange serving a three-course dinner with coffee and petit fours.
On the ground floor there is a snug room with a large TV and DVD player, together with speakers for guests to plug in and enjoy their own music. There is a large formal sitting room that has access onto the terraced area of the garden. A large bedroom with five-foot king-sized bed is also located on the ground floor.

There are two stair cases taking guests to the first floor where there are five bedrooms all with five foot king sized beds, one of these can be made into a twin bedroom if needed. Two of the bedrooms have shower and bath ensuites and one has shower room and loo ensuite. There is a large family bathroom for the use of the other bedrooms comprising of a large walk in shower, full size bath and loo. There are televisions with DVD players in all of the bedrooms.

Location and Local Area

The house is only a 10-minute drive to the historic town of Petworth with its vast array of antique shops. Other interests include the National Trust property Petworth House, where the great works of Turner can be found. 20 minutes south is the Cathedral City of Chichester. We are ideally located for all of the Goodwood Sporting events, being only 15 minutes away. Midhurst is another pretty town and is home to Cowdray Park Polo club. 20 minutes east is Arundel with its 11th Century Castle. The Bignor Roman Villa is within a short cycle ride. If it is shopping you are after, then there is Chichester, Haslemere and Guildford that are all easily accessible. London is only a 60-minute train ride away or 1 ½ hours by car. This area has outstanding country pubs serving local produce together with fine wines from local vineyards. The South Downs are on our doorstep with a network of public footpaths allowing miles of exploration deep into the countryside, where you will find an abundance of wildlife including deer, owls, badgers and hare as well as the unique flora and fauna of the Sussex Downs. The coast is within easy reach, so there really is something for everyone.

By train, Chichester is the nearest station and it is a twelve mile taxi ride from there.

By car: When arriving at Manor Farm guests should proceed down the driveway off the A285. The house is located on the right hand side, there is parking for up to three cars adjacent to the house with additional parking in the farm yard. Guests will be greeted by the owners on arrival and shown around the property.
